I found this hotel to be a mixed experience. The rooms, despite being dirty, were offered at a very reasonable price and surprisingly not so noisy. The service staff seemed a bit bored with their lives, yet they were very responsive and friendly, which I appreciated. The location was outside the walls but close to a bike path leading to the walled part of Lucca, meeting our travel needs well. The dining experience, although basic, had a fairly adequate selection, marred only by the use of chipped colored cereal bowls and plastic glasses. However, the facilities overall were decent for the value provided.
